To connect to or maintain a reliable connection to the University wireless network you may need to update your wireless card and/or driver software.
The University wireless network is 802.11a/b/g/n compatible to accommodate legacy wireless devices. OIT recommends using "n" wireless devices to utilize the most recent wireless technology. See a list of tested compatible wireless cards. If the card you are using is not listed, this means it is untested for compatibility.
Note: OIT is unable to test all makes and models of wireless cards.
During testing OIT identified that the automated laptop updates do not always offer the most recent driver software for the wireless card. We recommend you routinely check for and install driver software after the initial installation or a recent update to ensure that compatibility problems between wireless cards and networks are fixed and new authentication and encryption capabilities are added to the card.
