Set Up/Troubleshoot Audio

Meeting Room Audio

  1. Check that the meeting is set for multiple speakers.
    1. Click on the Pod Options button in the camera and voice pod.
    2. Make sure Voice On - Multiple Speakers is selected in the list.
  2. Check that the audio for the speaker is not muted.
    1. Mouse over the Camera and Voice pod.
    2. Make sure that the microphone icon is not crossed out.
  3. Run the audio setup wizard in the UMConnect meeting room.
  4. Right click (Control-click for Mac) on the Camera and Voice pod and select settings. Click on the microphone icon to confirm that the correct microphone input is selected. It should be the same as in the Audio tab.

Set Up/Troubleshoot Audio Devices - PC

  1. Plug in your headset before entering the meeting room. You may even want to try plugging it in and restarting the computer.
  2. Check your sound and audio devices control panel for the correct input and output devices.
    1. In the Audio tab, use the drop down menu to select the correct device.
    2. Check that WAV isn't muted under the Volume tab, Advanced settings.
  3. Run the audio setup wizard in the UMConnect meeting room.
  4. Right click on the Camera and Voice pod and select settings. Click on the microphone icon to confirm that the correct microphone input is selected. It should be the same as in the Audio tab.

Set Up/Troubleshoot Audio Devices - Mac

  1. Plug in your headset before entering the meeting room. You may even want to try plugging it in and restarting the computer.
  2. Check your sound options in system preferences (Note: Some Macs have digital audio inputs, which will not be able to use a stereo mini-headset without a pre-amp attached. A USB microphone will work on MAC).
    1. Select the correct devices in the Output and Input tabs.
    2. Use the volume slider to test the audio output.
    3. Test the microphone levels in the Input tab.
  3. Run the audio setup wizard in the UMConnect meeting room.
  4. Control-click on the Camera and Voice pod and select settings. Click on the microphone icon to confirm that the correct microphone input is selected. It should be the same as in the Input and Output tabs above.
  5. Check that your audio device frequencies are set correctly.
    1. Go to Applications > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup.
    2. Check that Audio input and output levels are set to 44100.0 Hz for the device (i.e. microphone) you are using for the meeting.
