Google Apps Arrive at the U of M

For nearly a year, the Office of Information Technology (OIT) has been working on plans to integrate Google applications for use at the University of Minnesota. After months of planning, collaboration, development, and testing; Google Apps for the University has arrived.

Initially planned as an e-mail service for students, the Google project has generated a great deal of interest across the University. The project team has received much feedback since it began the planning process, and began informing the University community about plans for using the Google suite of apps. Because of that feedback, the initiative grew into what it is today—a suite of applications that is available to University students, faculty and staff. 20 by 20: An OIT Pecha Kucha Event

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) and the Academic Technology Advisory Committee (ATAC) welcome you to attend our first pecha kucha-style event on Wednesday, December 2, 2 – 4 p.m., in the Mississippi Room, Coffman Memorial Union. Ten short, entertaining presentations will be given by faculty, staff, and students on the topic "Google@UMN," followed by breakout discussion sessions. OIT Launches a New Software Web Site

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) has redesigned its UTools Web site. UTools provides a complete and comprehensive list of all U of M software and applications; not just software options available through OIT. Read more of OIT Launches a New Software Web Site.

Windows 7 is Now Available

Faculty, staff, and students at the University of Minnesota can purchase Windows 7, the latest operating system from Microsoft, at academic prices through OIT's UTools Web site. Windows 7 is available to faculty and staff for $95 and to students for just $7. Read more of Windows 7 is Now Available.
