Selection Process
Based on our current membership level, the University of Minnesota is allowed 10 hours of programming per year. OIT Video Solutions will accept video programs from any University of Minnesota college, department, or center. All submissions will be reviewed by the University's ResearchChannel Advisory Committee members and rated. Based on the rating received, the submissions will be ranked and the top 10 hours of programming will be submitted.

Selection Criteria
Videos will be evaluated using the following criteria. (Not all submissions need to satisfy all criteria.)
- accessibility to a general audience
- advantageous external funding selection
- alignment with University's mission and strategic positioning goals
- close captioned
- evidence of cross institutional collaboration
- engaging content (interesting, good pacing)
- interdisciplinary
- need for media exposure
- production quality (video, audio, illumination)
- promotion of University of Minnesota research and scholarly work
- timeliness (e.g., recently produced)
Review Process
- A semi-annual submission process will be set up and members of the University community will be invited to submit programs via the online tracking form.
- The University's ResearchChannel Advisory Committee members will review and rate all submissions via the online tracking form.
- All applicants will receive a reply from the University's ResearchChannel Advisory Committee approximately 4 weeks after submission deadline with comments on their submission. Applicants are either accepted or not accepted.
- The University's ResearchChannel Advisory Committee reserves the right to make final selections based on representing the breadth of the University's entire scholarship.
- Modifications mutually agreed upon may be made to conform with ResearchChannel submission specifics (PDF).
- OIT Video Solutions will be responsible for delivering programming to the ResearchChannel.
- Applicants are allowed to re-submit programming if not accepted initially.
