Open-Source Course Management Software

This website offers general information about Moodle and help and support resources for students and instructors. Moodle is an open source course management system. Instructors can create course websites that include text, multimedia learning resources, and activities. A rich set of tools and features are included to enable collaboration and group participation. These tools can be used to teach classes completely online, to enhance traditional classes, and to support hybrid learning environments.

This service offering is part of our Academic Technology Tools services.

Course requests for Moodle 2.4 sites are now available! Submit a request for your Fall 2013 sites here.

Throughout the summer we will continue to integrate plugins compatible with Moodle 2.4. Please consult the table below for a current list of deployed plugins and planned deployments.

Request a site for the upcoming semester

Search the archives

Add students to your course site

Make your site available to students:

  1. Go to your course homepage.
  2. In the Settings block, go to Course administration > Edit settings.
  3. Scroll down to the Availability area. From the drop-down menu, choose This course is available to students.
  4. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Save changes.

End of Semester Checklist

Hide your old site from students:

  1. Go to course homepage.
  2. Go to the Settings block and click Course administration > Edit settings.
  3. Scroll down to the Availability area. From the drop-down menu, choose This course is not available to students.
  4. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Save changes.
