Recommended E-mail Clients

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) offers two e-mail services: Gophermail and Gmail. Both enable users to send and receive e-mail through Web-based and desktop clients.

• Web-based clients are available to users from any computer with an Internet connection.
• Desktop clients enable users to access their e-mail from their own computers without having to navigate the Internet. There are a number of desktop clients available.

Below is a list of those we recommend for different operating systems.

You can receive your University e-mail messages with Gmail if you sign up for a Google Apps account. Listed below are the clients OIT recommends to use with Gmail. For a complete list of e-mail clients that can be used with Gmail, please visit Gmail's Supported IMAP client list.
