Deliver a class audio/video recording in a digital format either by Web or mobile device.
Camtasia Relay can be used anytime and anywhere without any special hardware other than a microphone.
The University of Minnesota is pleased to announce that the Classroom Recording software (Camtasia Relay) has been upgraded to version 4.2.1 and is available for download via Camtasia's website. On the Camtasia site, the download link is found on the lower right side of the screen. You will need to log in before downloading.
Current Camtasia Relay users will need to uninstall the 4.1.2 (or older) application and install version 4.2.1. Instructions for Windows and Mac users are available on the Setup Guides page. This process should take less than a couple of minutes. Watch the training video.
With the 4.2.1 upgrade, Camtasia Relay’s default setting enables all users to immediately publish video to YouTube via U of M Google Apps. Publishing to YouTube eliminates the need for new users to wait for an administrator to create an account, as is necessary for those new users who choose to publish video to MediaMill/MediaMagnet. If you have not yet signed in to your U of M YouTube account, you will need to do so first. Information about video file lengths can be found on YouTube’s site.
YouTube is a Google+ application; users, even within the University of Minnesota, must abide by Google's user agreement. You retain ownership of any intellectual property rights that you hold in that content. In short, what belongs to you stays yours. However, by using the service, you agree to a worldwide license that enables Google to use, host, store, reproduce, modify and create derivative works and distribute that content for the purpose of operating, promoting, and improving their service.
You are strongly encouraged to read Google's full Policies & Principles.
Legacy 1.2 accounts on the physical server can no longer be supported. If you are still using Camtasia Relay version 1.2, or if you need help installing Camtasia Relay version 4.2.1, Classroom Recording services will work with you to migrate to 4.2.1.
Classroom Recording enables the ability to record audio and/or video of a class session and deliver that recording in a digital format either via the Web or mobile device or various other delivery mechanisms.
Camtasia Relay is a software-based screen capture solution that can be used for class capture, software demonstrations, and more. As a software solution, Camtasia Relay can be used anytime and anywhere without any special hardware.
